Heading south, almost

It is our last night here at Thule. The community center was closed yesterday no updates, this one may be a tad long.

The guys did a stripped down acoustic set in the main bar room on the TOW (Top Of the World club) on Tuesday night. Just a bunch of songs, scream out what you want to hear and they played it. Yesterday was a total free day but the guys worked up new songs from the next album. Studio time scheduled in January on the next album, more details to follow.

Also worked up some new stuff for the live show, I will just tease ya and tell you that you don't wanna miss this.

They were gonna rehearse some more today but come to find out there was a fire in the TOW Club around lunch today. All the buildings have these smoking lounges because there is no smoking throughout the buildings, but you cannot really stand outside for long and kill your lungs. Apparently the metal cannister that gets cleaned everyday was not replaced this morning and lit cigarettes ignited something in the can. No one was hurt and the it just stinks throughout the buiding now...but somehow trouble seems to follow us...haha.

Tonight we are packing up gear and catching the 6am flight back to Baltimore tomorrow. No storms or strange weather in our forecast so all should be well. I'll blog again when we land in Baltimore for those that get worried about us. Also, our phones will be working too, which I am not looking forward to my missed calls...just kidding Mom.

Gonna get all the pics I can from Noah and Philip and work on those over the weekend. Not much scenary as the moon can only do so much. Should be a beautiful flight home though with the sun breaking over the glaciers.

Thanks for those that read this and kept track of us. This has been a very moving experience. The military folks here are beyond words, the hospitality and appreciation they have showered upon us cannot be described. It is definitely a different way of life up here and blessed be those that live it. It truly gives you an idea of what people in our military go through for US, you and me. We get to enjoy concerts and family, freedom and choices, all because a few people protect those priveledges. It is sobering to think what this world would be like without these great people taking care of us.

And I hope all of you will show appreciation to any and all military personnel each and every chance you get.
